Citizen Vigilante: a “Highly Flawed Revenge Fantasy” 🥁

This film is crude and disgusting. But I watched it so you don’t have to. I might as well review it, too, but it will be brief.
Whatever credence the premise of this film – that the Muslim immigrants in Europe are committing horrible atrocities against European women – is drowned out by the character of the avenger, who pretty much puts them to shame in his calculating murder of the violators and anyone else who gets in his way.
He is cold and dysfunctional, actually more so than the violators are. While he has pity for rape victims, he has no problem visiting a brothel and partaking of its pleasures in very graphic sex scenes.
And it turns out that he is the owner of the brothel, too. The fact that he stops in the beginning of his sexual encounter to notice mold on the ceiling and then schools the prostitute on how to avoid its recurrence, is undercut by his return to the paid sex in pornographic detail.
The Muslin gang rape is never shown in detail, but this one is.
The film seems to be programmed for violence and sexual voyeurs.
It would be better that the film was never made, since it undercuts what is an actual problem in Europe and in the United States, thoughmostly from illegal immigrants rather than Muslims per se here.
Now anyone who posts about these rapes and murders of women is linked to the vile vigilante in the film.
A case of the so-called cure (the film) being worse than the disease (violence against women).
A few pundits I respect seem seduced by this siren song, and that is very sad.
P.S. Armie Hammer, who plays the vigilante, may or may not rehabilitate his acting career from the sudden surge in popularity the film experienced after Elon Musk made it available free on X for 2 days. But will it quell the reason Armie Hammer was shunned from popular filmdom for purportedly texting a girlfriend about his cannibalistic sexual fantasies.
This film is an aberration of a now aberrant and violent society. Let’s hope our society as well as Elon and a few other pundits return to sanity sooner than later.
